Gabriel Aresti and Zea Mays tell us that the winter is over just opening their poem book. Then a warm wind rises, the poet's consciousness awakens: “Our lungs have just woken up/ in irritated cavities/ on the outskirts of oblivion.” Reading these lines has given me a renewed feeling that I read in the Desert Street (Susa, 2002): writing is dry and spiral, Ibarguren’s writing is very reflexive, has a bitter taste to the subject of absence, and an almost antipoetic mechanics. cancer and the eternal themes of beginning and end cross the winter. The writer himself has said that he has put the words on the most crude concerns and feelings, but on a positive note. That is, that the “inner winter” he has lived has gone, and that the book would be a cry from it.

I don't know. The book tells the sadness of the one who has known the bitterness, sometimes it has also dazzled him, but in general, I think it fails. It has nothing to do with honesty, which is not said, but with credibility. The lack of accuracy of reading images makes it artificial: “No one is seen beyond the light/ have been evacuated after warning of sight/eye evacuation.” Passages like this one from the first slow part of the book have “brought me out” many times from it. The rare confusions of words – evacuating the looks – the lack of subject, redundancy… have made me feel a void instead of provoking the melancholy optimism contrario.El or the pacified pessimism felt last

winter is lost in rhetoric. With beliefs such as “I don’t know if your periphery/train will bring landscapes” or “the mineral time of the heartbeats” writing moves away from the poetry of life, which is the essence of the book. There have been many authors who, from day to day, have tried to find meaning to universal fears, but only a few have succeeded. To those limits of language have come those who have tried to write with their hearts rather than with their heads, and perhaps Ibarguren has failed to find in other places suggestive words to say something nice. The madmen who pay more attention to the subconscious are exposed to a great danger, but they, at least from time to time, find the discourse. In the past winter, yes, the emotion that exists and that can penetrate often cools with the same words.
