On February 7th, the door to a new period was opened in the Euskalduna Palace, and in a way that corresponds to any new era, the readings, valuations and feelings have multiple colors. The Law of the Parties, among others, and the established jurisprudence, in particular that of the Strasbourg Court of Human Rights, has led to a rethinking of the strategy of the Patriotic Left. A clear exercise of pragmatism could be observed when Iñigo Iruin explained the scope of the new party’s Statutes.

The emergence of the new party of the Patriotic Left has generated all kinds of reactions, inside and outside. It seems that the weakness of the Spanish government that some have tried to sell was not so great and we have seen the Patriotic Left not only obey the laws, but reject what has been the vanguard for many years. Anyone who is tempted to look back will be told that it is time to look forward but this requires pedagogy and time.
