The Society for the Promotion of the Sü Acia to the Bridge will launch the book in which Father was pastor. It is a book based on the life of pastor Dominique Laxalt, who emigrated to America, written by his son Robert Laxalt in 1957. The original English version of Sweet promised land became a best seller and has since been translated into several languages, including Basque. It was published in 1988 in the United Basque language, translated by Bereziartu of Xabier Mendigu, with the title Dominique, a Xibero-American pastor in Nevada. It has now been translated to the bridge by the Maulean Jean-Pierre Etcheinterfer. The image above shows Dominique Laxalt (right). He spent most of his life in the mountains of Nevada and on his return to the Basque Country he said: “This is not my country now, I’ve done too many years in America.”
