We’ve spent quite a bit of time left independentists circling around in the same rotunda, and not always in the same direction, in the pains of finding an effective road map to get out of there. Remembering those who have spent the last years in the facts, we might think that it has been invented once and for all, even knowing that the invention is not due to chance, but to causality cultivated by time. In fact, this has been a year full of steps in the same direction. Probably the most moving political year in a long time, although not everyone in the last photo has moved, for the moment.

The fact that the nationalist left has placed unilateralism at the starting point has made possible the direction so far, whether it is from Brussels, from the Basque Country, from the ceasefire, from Gernika, from the mass mobilizations... undoubtedly a reflection of the greatness of the unilateral bet. In fact, since you don’t demand a precondition from the counterpart, the counterpart feels left out of your game, so he has to show himself organizing raids because of the game regulator and, by the way, plunge the path with doubts to those who have been predisposed to start unilaterally, in case it’s the day after tomorrow.

From this point of view of the conditions, I find it incomprehensible that the armed organization, in its interview with the newspaper Gara, called for a ceasefire in the Brussels Declaration, that it has had the willingness to “go even further if conditions are created for it”. The unilateral bet must take advantage of the conditions created so far to create new ones, even to create conditions sufficient to move the counterpart, but it cannot wait for the conditions that could have come from the counterpart, otherwise it would not have been a unilateral bet. And this is the order.

Starting from the unilateral, the direction of the bilateral strategic agreements, with the objective of an agreement that, in the end, must be multilateral. Although the paradox can be considered, the arrests that took place a year ago at the headquarters of the LAB gave impetus to the deep reflection that they wanted to avoid with this operation. But it was realized and even resolved that it was necessary to reform the way of understanding and doing politics, using forces in a different way, transforming the inertia that came from the past into an effective strategy for the future. The future is derived from that decision.

The transition from confrontation to political confrontation requires new conditions, complementary to those already created. The Nationalist Left needs a legal political stamp, so get out of that debate. The legal mark in the politics of acting in the same field as others, even if it has never stopped doing politics; the legal mark to be around the multilateral table of the day after tomorrow, and to be fattening not only the independence but also the commitment to a left social model, after all. And here’s another paradox: arrests to legalize a new political formation, including torture, the need to go through the window of a political system that uses them for political purposes! These arrests could hinder this step, increase doubts in some areas of the patriotic left, because for the State that seems to be rightful, it is not the same for a whole or a part of the political confrontation to take place. But it is said that the step will be taken and the accumulation of forces will also be maintained. Thus, the violence expressed by the instigators of the Altsasu Mesa in the recent apparition in the same town gives way.
