I'm not a smoker. I gave it to him now for thirty years, and even though he smokes his favorite, it doesn't really bother me at all. Last week, however, in view of the way in which the legislative State has acted on this issue, I have had several doubts.
It is true that our social contract – that invisible contract that we sign when we are born without knowing anything, and without a lawyer – recognizes us the support of the state, but, this supposed support, due to the strict aspect that it is taking or, it is becoming more and more unbearable.
As a result of the Enlightenment, those who, in order to remain in power, proceeded to justify the activity of the State – seeing that the claim that power came for God no longer even provoked laughter – chose to accept the law as their representative.
From then on, the law was made divine, and the admiration for the law is so great that they want to subject each and every field to the law. Everything here has to be regulated (except, of course, the market economy), everything has to be submitted to the law, as if the laws were neutral, inherent or made between all.
And even though they already allow us to sell tobacco –strange!– that is poison, we can not smoke, apart from the first one, neither in parks, closed areas nor in front of children.
But this desire for regularization is not over (I will not mention political and social control over society this time). Only in our own area, we can no longer have even a little cholesterol or an asterisk in transaminases; we can’t have a tooth with caries, we can’t take the flu, at least not the flu.
We can’t eat anything because we can’t be fat or too thin, we can’t drink anything and we can’t be with drinks in open areas. We can’t be melancholy, but always happy, and we can’t be half lying in the chair after lunch, but walking or playing sports.
We can’t walk on the street, if not on the sidewalk, or outside the parking lot, even if we don’t cause obstacles, we can’t leave cars; we can’t name the child, if it doesn’t appear in the nomenclature; we can’t turn on the kalefaction as many hours as we want, because we waste energy, and even with the water that we have here – as we have been made to see as if it were scarce – we feel guilty if we let it go.
Is this freedom?
