That political rights – freedom of expression, rights of association and demonstration – cannot be negotiated, controlled, conditioned, always thinking, with the clear understanding that the verdict against us is written and that, as the script of this political moment demands, there will be severe sanctions...: we refused to make our legal defense.

In these two months, although our behavior before the court has been passive, we have again been uncomfortable witnesses: We've seen a jury that doesn't even recognize the Basque Country. Who does not understand what constitutes a social and political initiative and how the initiatives of the people are carried out. Wearing glasses to treat everyone as enemies, he interprets raffles, gossip and gatherings in a criminalising way, regardless of the reason for which they are organized – even if these reasons are known and transparent to us at least. But despite everything, we and the judges have seen that our initiatives are a direct consequence of the existence of torture, brutal prison policy and state terrorism. These realities are always evident when we talk about the Movement for Amnesty.

This passivity before the Tribunal has contrasted with our active and vocal attitude towards our people, who have said clearly and loudly that as long as there is repression, there will be a denunciation against it. That if anyone has suffered the scratches of state violence, he will not walk the path alone. Even if it is not us, there will be others in this country who will raise the flag against repression and that together we will build a wall of waves to fight attacks against the rights of this country.

In fact, do you think they will prevent the Movement for Amnesty by creating more political prisoners?
