It is said that the name is who it was and what we know if we hardly pronounce with the vagina. We look at it from the mouth, the shy or the ignorance, and the eyes closed. The vagina monologue goes up to three actors on stage to break the secret, highlighting the difference between having it and being.
This, below. You know, girl: blunt, pink, melon, poxpoline, potorro, birth, mochina, hole… Antipolilla. They are just a few nominations, which are undoubtedly shouted at one of the best moments of the work, at the time of the demonstration by all the representatives of the word baghdad, hundreds of attempts to call an unspeakable name.
Eve Ensler's original book is based on an interview with 200 women of different ages, places of origin and social conditions. He was first represented in English in 1996 in the United States. The actresses Aitziber Garmendia and Ainhoa Garai brought him to the Basque Country in 2011. Translated into 50 languages, it has already spread to 140 countries. The director Begoña Bilbao wanted to come back this year. Three voices on stage, ordering the sounds of others, in a context we still understand today and with new notes, such as transsexuality.
They use humor everywhere and the desire to laugh at ourselves and to make public the absurdity of hiding something natural. They have shown that the testimonies that are narrable are to get out of intimacy, because the public has first understood the cries of the other, especially those we have. The anguish, trauma, sensations, joy and experiences that have created the mysteries of Mochina have been interpreted in a dynamic and fun way in different stages, without seeking a special characterization of the characters and getting lost in the scenery and emphasizing the expression of the bodies. The soundtrack has been continuous, of which they are kept during the days, provoked by the melodies of the swamps and by the untiring laurels of the public.
But experiences are not all sweet and the viewer will also feel it. Besides reproduction they speak of menstruation, rape, pain, pleasure, ejaculation, orgasm, absence of orgasms and birth, among other things, to the point of crying, as the tears saved sometimes leave when laughing. There are also theaters for that, people know it and look for it, because few were the seats that were left free.
This work is therefore a tribute to those women who spoke and for the benefit of those who are quiet and renewed and those who come. The sexualization of women is very happy for the public to exploit pleasure.
