The Zubieta incinerator continues to speak, although it has not yet been officially opened. According to ARGIA, on Saturday, 9 May, hundreds of fish have appeared in the Arkaitzerreka regatta, which goes from there to the Oria River, mainly anilos.
This means of communication has spoken to an eyewitness who has pointed out that in many parts of the river there was foam in the waters of the river. He has called the emergency services 112 and the Municipal Police of Usurbil, and they have informed him that the URA agency was aware of this. The URA agency, for its part, has not made public any communication on this matter.
The authorities in Gipuzkoa should clarify what has happened and whether there has been a toxic spillage at the incinerator in Zubieta. This person from the Anti-Incinerator Movement has taken some dead fish and samples of water, without ruling out the carrying out of an analysis.
The Environment Deputy of Gipuzkoa, José Ignacio Asensio, said that although the Zubieta incinerator is in the phase of "tests", 200 tonnes of waste are being burned a day, when the Spanish Government completes the State of Alarm will be inaugurated.
Two days ago, the Anti-Incinerator Movement addressed ten questions to the authorities, asking them to answer.
