Protest against public services
- The unions of Hego Euskal Herria will protest once in February. In Navarra the strengthening of the entire public sector will be called for, while in the CAPV it will focus on Osakidetza and the decline of the public health system.
Next Wednesday, 15 February, the trade unions ELA, LAB, CCOO, UGT and Steilas have called for a strike for the entire public sector under the Government of Navarra. They call for real negotiations to improve working conditions and public service in practice. All trade unions believe that "end the privatization policy" and that the Foral Government must "exercise its powers of self-government".
Ten days later, specifically on 25 February, they will denounce the decline of the health system and will focus on Osakidetza at the call of ELA, SATSE, LAB, SME, CCOO and UGT in Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. At the press conference, they emphasized that job insecurity remains one of the most serious problems: "temporality greater than 50%; loss of purchasing power greater than 20% in a decade; systematic work overload; shortage of personnel; lack of representation and vacancy coverage; or reductions in working conditions".
A warm atmosphere in Spain
Last Sunday, hundreds of thousands of citizens came out to protest in the Spanish capital, Madrid, harassing the public health system of the Autonomous Community, which according to the representation of the Spanish Government was about 250,000, compared to a million protesters, according to the organizers. In total, more than 70 groups adhered to the demonstration to report, among other things, that about one million citizens of the autonomous community of Madrid do not have doctors assigned, of which 200,000 are children, need a pediatrician. They say that the worst are those who live outside the capital.
On the eve of the great demonstration, because of the nervousness, there were those who believed that "it could be wrong" the government of the Madrid community. On Saturday night the most prestigious Goya Awards of the Spanish cinematographic panorama were delivered, and at the beginning of the ceremony the historic filmmaker Carlos Saura was to receive the honorary prize for his career. He died two days before the award ceremony at a hospital in Madrid and his widow received the symbol. He took advantage of the concertation to thank the surveillance received in this health center, and on Twitter the government of the community of Madrid ruled by Isabel Díaz Ayuso was not silent. He recalled that that particular hospital is public-private management and clearly stated that these formulas work above all criticism.
