84 personalities from the academic and cultural world warn that Zaldibar is an exhausted model
- In the manifesto entitled “Zaldibar Argitu, the exhaustion of the model in evidence”, they called for “the energy, ecological and social transition”. “If they didn’t, new Zaldibar could come,” they say.
Zaldibar has shown that the current environmental management model is exhausted and that the life model generated by mass waste production is detrimental. “It is urgent to demand that the areas that directly affect public health and the quality of life of citizens should be under the perspective of rigorous and responsible public control,” the manifesto states.
It is a good time to debate collectively on the energy, ecological and social transition and with this aim to launch a roadmap, “including the direct and rational treatment that waste needs”. If the bases are not changed, they have warned that the possibility of recurrence of events such as Zaldibar will not be eliminated.
