Monitoring
- To yourself. Family members. Friends. To the community. We started to value care, from the video calls of the closest ones to the care networks of the neighborhoods and towns.
In the places where the surveillance networks have been set up, the neighbours buy those who cannot leave their homes or those who have scarce economic resources; the workers of some residences have decided to spend there 24 hours, for the benefit of the health of all; the neighbours have sought new channels of marketing agricultural products; when the Basque Government’s order to close the fairs has come, several municipalities have decided to keep their own open.
These are just a few examples that show that the community initiative has been brought to the forefront by the citizens. Because if we hadn't realized before, we've realized that our bodies are vulnerable and that we need each other. What we have to take care of is that it's community. In short, for example, eating local food: caring for the people of our community and putting grain to avoid the exploitation of land and bodies in other territories. And that's also taking care of minority languages, because we are bodies that interact and have an essential dietary language to live and communicate. That we have a way of building as people, that we are part of a culture.

I am a body that has rescued words like “I miss you”, in the absence of hugs, looks, voices in front. A body where culture and creativity help to be, to enjoy, to live. And what worries me is whether the creator takes care of us the way they're taking care of us, the communities themselves. New channels of access to cultural creations that we will find in the community so that creators can develop their work in dignified conditions. Or, as we have encouraged the Basque Government to open fairs, if we are going to encourage those responsible for the three administrations of the Basque Country to assume their responsibility for the Basque Country and the Basque culture. Taking care of the community is taking care of our bodies.
I remember the People of the late Xalbador and the verses of the language. Without opposing what he said, I will take the license to turn the familiar phrase, to end: the people are the heart, the linguistic body.
