The objective of the Caserío Harvest is for the citizens to know the farms first hand, knowing how the works and products of the baserritars are worked. In 2020 they had to abandon the initiative for the pandemic and this year they have resumed the project. In spring the Palais de Aniz (Baztán) was built on the estate, surrounded by Pete. The Oihanartia estate of Ibarrola (Baja Navarra) will host on 8 October the turn of the Jauregia estate, in the celebration of the Autumn Caserío Harvest.
The initiative combines farmhouse, organic farming and Basque music. According to the organizer, Josebe Blanco, “We look forward to giving a space for the knowledge and conversation of the formats.” The harvest of the farmhouse arose from the collaboration between the EHKO-group and the Paper Concerts in the fall of 2017, with the "desire to boost Basque culture, unite and strengthen the community".
On 8 October Jean-Marie and Mirentxu of Oihanartia will open their doors in parallel. In Oihanartia they have always had cows and sheep of meat, but in 2008 they decided to switch to organic production and even started growing pigs. Now they sell cattle, porcine (also preserved) and sheepmeat and gas milk, all ecologically, in their own trade, at some ecological fairs in Hego Euskal Herria and at the fair in Sara.
The event will begin at 10:30 in the morning with a visit to the farm: stables, gasnategi and txerritegi. The Sister of Xendarín, Urepelese duo, will enliven the quote with traditional songs from 12:30 a.m. A meal will then be held with food from the homes of the members of the EHKOreader.
