The unofficial Catalan protocol of demonstrations says that the parade must end as close as possible to the building in which the decision is made on something you are asking for. That is why, normally, demonstrations always end before the city council, before the Generalitat, before the parliament or before the civil government. I think that's not the case in Euskal Herria. In Vitoria, for example, they end up in the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, on the Boulevard de Donostia. I was curious when I started attending the demonstrations in the Basque Country. It seemed much more interesting to me to end up in a certain place, and there, yes, to scream or sing slogans. I am not an expert in organizing demonstrations, but my hypothesis is that in Euskal Herria the atmosphere was already quite warm and that the progress of the Civil Government, for example, was not very convenient.
Well, I recognize that it's not a very developed theory, but surely, that's right, every capital has its protest landscapes. In Barcelona, for example, if you say: Via Laietana, Urquinaona, Plaça Catalunya, Plaça Espanya, Jardinets de Gràcia, Pla de Palau... Then the moments when we went together in search of a better world come to mind. Sometimes calmly, often with a smile and pride, sometimes with nervousness, or frightened, you remember moments when we had to run often. Behind this banner don't put, in the other yes, okay, nothing near the boy you know, but not so much... And, of course, he knows by heart where who is located, where the forces of order are located and where we are. Many memories connect us to these places.
"It's called Eva Forest and last name Bibliotekopia. Those who have made this place possible are people who know deeply the trajectories of the demonstrations, us"
Vitoria is a small capital compared to Barcelona, but of course it also has places for its protest, although I do not know so much. I have already mentioned the White Virgin, and there they end, as I know, most of the demonstrations, and the starting point is often the Plaza Bilbao. That plazuela is not a very significant place, or pretty, to tell the truth. It has hardly any form of plaza and is more of a crossing. It has a park located north, opposite France Street, and on the other side, the Casco Viejo.
Now their landscape has changed a bit and is not so cold. In the direction you will take from the Plaza de Bilbao to the Casco Viejo is the canton of Santa Maria, where you see a warm place. It has a clear wooden entrance and in the window the book. It's the new book store in Vitoria, called Eva Forest and last name Bibliotekopia. Those who have made this place possible are people who know deeply the routes of demonstrations, us. The inauguration is said to have been a success and the room has been filled in all the activities they have organized. It doesn't surprise me, because the book is sweet in our small capital and we're happy.
Because, at this brutal time, at this time when it seems that there are so many things about to end, isn't it nice, isn't it hopeful to see something start? And not everything, plus -- a bookstore with tools to keep hope.
For many years, Eva Forest Bibliotekopia!
