On 11 January, the traditional national meeting of prisoners will take place in Bilbao.
- The motto of the mobilisation called by Sare Herritarra on 11 January in Bilbao will be “The final solution”, and as every year, Sare expects the support of thousands of people.
"Today, we want to remind Basque society that in these ten years Sare's main hallmarks of identity have been the work for resolution, coexistence and peace, and they will continue to do so until we reach the goals we set ourselves in creating our movement: to achieve a comprehensive solution to all the consequences of the years of violence and suffering in our country." In this process, Sare believes that it is urgent to “provide a just and definitive solution” to the situation of the repressive and repressive.
SARE has denounced that, although more than six years have passed since ETA disappeared, there are problems and situations that remain unresolved. “A final solution is needed. Finding a just solution to prisons, exiles and deportees will help us build a solid coexistence. It will also help us to recognize and support the victims of all the violence we have suffered in our people. Both are the keys to achieving the constant coexistence of our people”.
SARE has also warned that the absence of violence "is not enough to achieve peace" in the Basque Country. “The Basque society has overcome the violent situations suffered and it is time to overcome the unfair situations that are the result of the confrontation experienced. The Basque society, with generosity, honesty and responsibility, has demonstrated in this last decade that it is possible to live and advance in freedom, without forgetting but without insisting on hatred. In Sa we will continue to work to achieve that scenario and from now on we will help unleash the knots that still do not let us talk about a just peace. Living and acting in freedom and respect for the other is what leads us to coexistence and definitive peace”.
