From 24 to 26 March an international mobilisation for the defence of water in the region of Poitiers (Aquitaine) and Ostia Sarea has convened a meeting to "strengthen solidarity".
Ostia is a network of citizen mobilization of Ipar Euskal Herria in favor of land and the right to housing, and points out that it seems "necessary" to go to this new quote organized by Bassines Non Mence, Confédération Paysanne and Soulèvement de la Terre to fight huge water reserves.
"In Iparralde, to the extent that we fight against the artificialization of land and for a fairer cultivation model, paralysing water reserves would be a popular victory," said Ostia. They believe it will be an important precedent for "all other pro-land dynamics" and to curb the expansion of the "ultra-liberal government of Paris" and the agro-industrial industry.
For months now, the movement against agro-industry and its gigantic mega-basins or aberrations began in France. These water reserves are macro-projects that lead soil water, regatta and torrential rains to intensive crops.
The demonstration will take place on Saturday at 10:00 in the morning. Poitiers is driving 4 hours from Euskal Herria and members of the Ostia network have announced that they are going to set up a carpooling system to go from Euskal Herria to Poitiers. Thus, a registration form has been created for the demonstration on 25 March.
The Bassines non Mcre group has made numerous mobilisations. For example, a few months ago thousands of people moved to the place where they want to do their jobs and faced the police:
They also perform other actions such as:
The update of the Navarra Energy Plan goes unnoticed. The Government of Navarre made this public and, at the end of the period for the submission of claims, no government official has explained to us what their proposals are to the citizens.
