Proof of this was that while the official status of the Basque Country Selekzioa is denied, the selections of Spain and France are disputed there. “Bilbao is sold internationally as a Spanish city, with the complicity of the autonomist bourgeoisie represented by the PNV,” they stressed. Furthermore, they stated that they find it incomprehensible that “genocidal states such as Turkey and Israel have the opportunity to participate”.

Exploitation of workers and commodification of public space

Delude the "false discourse" that the Eurocup is going to bring wealth: “This Euro Cup will not bring any wealth to the Basque working class. They recalled that these collateral damages that the Euro Cup will bring must be added to the increase in the police presence in the city: “The movements generated against this imposition will take advantage of all the instruments to hit repressively, turning Euskal Herria once again into a police state. Our streets will be filled with clowns, civil guards and other police forces. Its mission will be to protect the interests of the powerful and the fascists who will come to Euskal Herria.”
