It is a long time since many social actors, trade unions, parties and citizens have been marked in red on 30 January. However, the Basque Government and the Government of Navarra have today officially registered the call for a general strike in the residences of Bilbao and Pamplona/Iruña, convened by the convening trade unions.
They have presented a concrete platform of demands that "responds directly to the needs of citizens and their citizens". The table includes, inter alia, a minimum pension of EUR 1,080 and a revaluation on the basis of the CPI, a minimum wage of EUR 1,200, measures to deal with labour reforms and precariousness, to close the wage gap or the IGR and housing requirements.
"The Basque Government and the Government of Navarra cannot hide," said ELA Secretary General Mitxel Lakuntza, "because they have had the tools and resources to reverse the situation. It is our duty to press for compliance with these demands that we have made public in this strike register."
Meanwhile, LAB Secretary General Garbiñe Aranburu believes that the strike is to "go on the offensive" and have "a dignified life". In this regard, LAB has recalled that in nine days since the beginning of the year six workers have died due to precarious conditions: “XXI. We're in the 18th century, and today going to work means too many times getting sick or dying."
Galician Inter-Trade Union Confederation also supports the strike
Oñati, Leioa, Aiaraldea, Portugalete, Lea-Artibai... In many neighborhoods, towns and counties, strike committees are already in place to decide what kind of protests and actions they should carry out before the U30 is held. The ELA trade union has also reported that it will convene regional assemblies on Thursday and Friday to discuss what will be done from now on.
In the meantime, many actors and institutions are joining the general strike. The latter has been the Galician Inter-Trade Union Confederation, the main trade union of Galicia, which has shown its support for the protest of 30 January.

I received your e-mail in personal mail on the strike portals. At first, like many others, I thought it was to let you know what options we have in the face of the strike. But no, the e-mail received was a political and communicative movement against the strike.
I will confess... [+]
