The commemoration of the 11th anniversary of the death of Txillardegi will be held on 14 January
- Coinciding with the new year, the Txillardegi Municipal Library project has become tradition the day of homage to it. The commemorative event of the 11th anniversary of his death will be held on 14:00 a.m. at Plaza Txillardegi, in Plaza Gascuña del Antiguo. The tribute will feature a series of statements, music and claims.
“Unfortunately, the unnamed claim of the San Sebastian General Municipal Library, ‘Txillardegi Udal Liburutegia’, has not had good results in this long decade, even though last year’s X edition was strong. Not all the attempts made have been sufficient for the City of San Sebastian to adopt this agreement. As you can see, both the current municipal government and the plenary of the City Hall of San Sebastian have no will to do so, even though thousands of Donostiarras have expressed their desire to do so,” the project explained.
However, they announce that they will not give in: “The new City Hall of San Sebastian to be set up after the municipal elections to be held next May, we will ask you to take this decision into consideration, such as Carlos Santamaría or Koldo Mitxelena, because we want the name of Txillardegi to be present in the cultural landscape of San Sebastian, because it deserves it.”
