Uribarrena has explained the importance of such a victory: "The three of us are quite young, we are replacing about ten years, starting with the bateleras. We have been in small groups and achieve such a victory, that we have fought since we were young, it has been to get that dream we have had." Sánchez added that "for us it is a great victory. In the end we have had to abandon the clubs we have learned to be at this level. Being selfish we have gone to look for what has benefited ourselves and we chose Donostia Arraun Lagunak. And because it's another little club, victory has a lot more value."

In the rowing club of Hernani, Sánchez and Zumeta were two more years in the trainera of Tolosaldea. This is his second year at Remo Donostia Club. Uribarri, a native of Trintxerpe and a resident of Lizartza in recent years, has been in the club for six years and was previously in Ilunbe, in Trintxerpe.

As the season progressed, the reers of believers have been marching among them. "We started training in winter and the coaches told us we were very good and we believed in us," Zumeta explained at a press conference in Lezama. "In the pre-season regatta we saw that we were ahead, and we won both Orio and San Pedro, but we still had to believe in it. Now that summer comes, as the flag wins, we've thought we're up there.

Very tight league final

The league has been very equalized and has had an exciting ending with the Zarautz Flag, which was played this weekend. The Arraun Lagunak have tied points with Orio, but have achieved six developments and Orio five, which has made the victory for the Donostia team. Sanchez said the last weekend was very deadly: "Being a young team and not having earned anything in our trainee, we have experienced many nerves. We had a lot of trouble channeling that nervousness, and on Saturday we didn't get it on the rowing, because we were very nervous. Even though we did better on Sunday, we lacked a lot." In the last few races they have not given their level, as "we have not yet learned to control that nervousness", as explained by the organizers.

Besides the mourning between Orio and her traineras, the traineras Donostiarra and Hondarribia have achieved a high level. Uribarreta stressed that this year young people entered both Orio and Arraun Lagunak: "Many of the people at the base have left it in both Orio and our team, but that doesn't mean we've lowered the level. On the contrary, the level has risen and the two teams have taken a step forward. Maintaining this competition is nice with the winner of the last years, and also the spectacle we have offered to the public throughout the summer has been nice. In the end, it has never been seen that the four traineras of the Euskotren League reached almost a goal, and I believe that the category and the struggle that has been demonstrated has been impressive."

After receiving the Euskotren League trophy, a meal was held yesterday in which family and friends went to the club. Then, in the afternoon, the victory was celebrated on the streets of Donostia and in Portalea it was possible to celebrate with the hobby. Tomorrow they will have official reception at the City Hall. Still, the club does not have a good relationship with the City Hall of San Sebastian, according to Uribarrena: "It will be a formality that will have to happen. We know their attitude towards us, because they do not give us any kind of protection. But for us, the important thing is to give results to our hobby and ourselves."

The next great challenge of the day will be the Concha Flag, in Donostia. They are eager to go in search of this challenge, as Sánchez explained: "We've removed all the tensions. The league has been so tight that we've had lots of tension and lots of nerves. The Concha is totally different, because they are two days, and in both of us we will give the best of ourselves. We have three weeks to prepare. We know that the traineras who are in the SME League can give a good level, but we are able to win." A spectacle that can be spectacular, as the traineras of the Euskotren League have an equivalent level. "It's clear that there's no one in front of you, that we're all the same, and that anyone can have a bad day and that that can affect you. We all have to go and give it everything," Zumeta said.

After getting the Euskotren League, getting the Concha Flag would have been a success for the club. "We are doing everything for the rowing of women in San Sebastian and I believe that what we are doing is historic and that we have to value what we are doing," he said.
