The project, promoted by the Vice-Ministry of Language Policy (VPL), has been coordinated by the Cultural Association of Wikilaris Vascos (EWKE) and the codification of the application has been carried out by the company CodeSyntax (eibarresa company that performs Sustatu or once a day). The presentation was directed by the VPL (here the official statement).

The application offers themed navigation or through the search tool. If the term has not been identified with an article, it also searches the contents; and if it is not, it also allows to go to Wikipedia in Euskera in general. The application also reproduces multimedia files, keeps a history and has a notification system (optional) to collect the notes of the items that Txikipedia wants to highlight.

Txikipedia has an average of 1,500 daily visits, 553,000 in the last year. Last year, in 2019, 355,000 were registered, an increase of EUR 968 per day. That is, 55% more visits in a year. Among the reasons for the rise, more and more people know Txikipedia and have more and more content. When Txikipedia updates or additions occur, it is imminent to recompose the content in the application.

Txikipedia is suitable for 8 and 12 year olds, as well as for their parents. In fact, it is also campaigning to disseminate the use of the application among these EWKE. Here you have the video that has been prepared for the promotion.
