The CAV and Navarra, the slowest in vaccinating
- The Government of Spain has updated its report on vaccination, which shows the number of doses received by each autonomous community and the one it has put up so far. Melilla and Galicia are the regions that most rapidly get vaccinated, with 82.8% of the doses received and 81% of the secondary ones. The CAV and Navarra are among the slowest, followed by Extremadura, Murcia, Ballenas and Madrid.
In Navarre, 11,850 doses of the PFIZER vaccine were received from the government, of which 5,468 were administered on 10 January, representing 46.1%.
The CAV received 31,605 doses of IRPF from the Basque Government, of which 13,103 were administered on January 10, which is 41.5%.
Voluntary and slow vaccination
The Health Department of the Government of Spain has published its vaccination strategy. It can be read that vaccination is voluntary and that the vaccine is safe. The Government considers the inclusion in the vaccine register of people who "do not reject it" to "know the reasons why they do not have it in different social groups". The Government’s strategy also recommends vaccinating citizens who have already passed COVID-19, indicating that it is not yet clear to what extent immunity develops and for how long the person who has passed it.
During this winter, household residents and workers and frontline health professionals will be vaccinated. The Government of Spain has defined four priority vaccination groups that will receive the first doses in groups 1 and 2 of the vaccine waiting list. Once incorporated, and as more doses accumulate, priority groups 3 and 4 will be placed. These are the four groups:
1. Residents and workers of Residential Centers.
2nd Frontline Health Personnel of COVID-19. Healthcare staff working with patients infected with COVID-19.
3. Other healthcare professionals who do not work with COVID-19.
4. Dependent elderly people. Your caregivers may also be vaccinated on the same visit that lead to vaccinating these elderly people.
The Health Advisor, Gotzone Sagardui, explained that, according to this information, it is expected that the incorporation of residents and workers in residences will be completed by the end of February, after which the first line health personnel will be recruited.
