The documentary Holidays of Modern Pilgrims analyzes the topic of tourism worldwide, through its historical, economic, social and ideological margins. It wants to "put aside the most common phenomena (gentrification, massification…)" that are heard around tourism and address the issue in a deeper way.
Since the documentary is centered on Indochina (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia), the stories recorded there are the central axis of the audiovisual. On the pretext of the "leisure of international hikers", he intends to put on the table a critical analysis of two social formations that are so disparate worldwide: capitalism and regimes that have been self-appointed with the label "socialist state" or marked with the adjective "communism".
