Contrary to what has been published by some media, the agreement signed between ELA, CCOO and Independents with Tubacex’s management is not in question.
Specifically, the article has been published by the portal www.cronicavasca, which indicates that Judge Garbiñe Biurrun has withdrawn the document signed by the two parties and is pending.
In fact, the chairman of the Staff Commission, Edu Ibernia, has made it clear to Aiaraldea Komunikabideak that the agreement has not reached the judges and that, for the time being, the legal services of the unions are working with the secretaries of the Courtrooms of the Court to find the most appropriate legal formula, both in fiscal and in terms of rights. Workers' representatives want to have all the guarantees for those who want to leave the company, or for those who want to return to their jobs, once the voluntary departure has been approved.
This is not the first time that this media has aroused concern about this labour dispute, and, above all, ELA has been very angry with the journalist. The chairman of the Works Council, Edu Ibernia, spoke to the author of the text and accused him of lying, as happened during the strike.
In a statement released to its affiliates, ELA stated that "the news in recent hours, which indicates that the agreement has been broken, is absolutely false and ill-intentioned."
In the same vein, CCOO has sent a message to its colleagues to ensure that the agreement is not at risk and that at the moment efforts are being made to standardize the situation of voluntary departures and workers who have to be readmitted. Likewise, they have described as "disturbing" the news appearing in today's day in the Basque Country.
