The last meeting between the management of Tubacex and the works council on the temporary agency took place on Tuesday. The multinational intends to implement the new dossier on 11 September, when it is already operational. This will be extended until 30 December and will have an impact of 70%. Workers’ representatives presented a joint proposal in the negotiation process: to set aside forced redundancies, to withdraw the appeal before the Supreme Court and to commit themselves to maintaining employment until 2024, renouncing subcontracting. Workers, for their part, would also relinquish their commitment to the creation of employment agreed in the collective agreement. If the proposal were adopted, the Works Council would agree to the temporary employment regulation dossier that Tubacex intends to apply.
The multinational strongly rejected the trade union proposal, arguing that they have nothing to do with the 210 days of labour conflict and the negotiations on the new dossier. At today's meeting it has ratified its position by considering that the proposal for an agreement by the trade unions is a blackmail.
Workers' representatives have explained that the solution to the labour dispute can be a matter of temporary employment regulation, provided that it is accompanied by non-traumatic structural measures, such as the withdrawal of redundancies.
Thus, the last negotiation has ended without agreement. Tubacex will implement a new dossier tomorrow and the workers will continue the strike and mobilisations: "In the search for an agreement that will guarantee the future of the workforce", he added.
In the meantime, the Superior Court of Justice of Navarra will take the decision again on 20 and 27 September. The multinational, for its part, has refused to respect the holidays of workers in Spain.
