The Parliament of Navarre urges the Foral Government to allow people who wish to change their sex to receive all the attention of the transition process, including intervention, at the Cruces University Hospital. Today they must travel more than 900 kilometers each time they have a consultation related to this issue, as in Málaga is the reference center used by Osasunbidea.

Understanding that this situation is “unacceptable”, Geroa Bai proposes to negotiate an agreement with the Basque Government to assist Navarros transsexuals in Barakaldo. EH Bildu and Left-Ezkerra voted in favour of the motion, while Navarre Suma and PSN abstained.

This last aspect, together with Ahal Dugu, has contributed to the proposal of the members of the Government (G) to create a health center specialized in gender change in Navarra in the University Hospital of Navarra, in coordination with Transbide. It is an interdisciplinary technical unit to ensure quality integral care to transgender, transgender, intersex and their relatives and relatives. The Government of Navarra created in 2017 to ensure free care throughout the process for people willing to change sex and to de-pathologize their situation.

In addition, the PSN and Ahal Dugu have requested that the interventions be carried out in Navarra or that if it is not possible to refer patients to Cruces, the treatment can be received in other public hospitals in the Spanish state closer to Málaga. To this end, the Foral Parliament urges the Spanish Government to strengthen the network of specialized public hospitals in exchange for sex.
