“2019 was very prosperous, if we look closely at the massive movements of uprisings and villages that emerged on different continents: Algeria, Hong Kong, Chile, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Catalonia, Egypt, Ecuador, Sudan, France… All powers want to confine those struggles, but what is happening in the United States has put a new link to the movement,” the organizers said in their brief presentation of the week they sent. “What do these facts mean and the many common points that exist between them?” This is the question that will be asked in the face of all these attacks on the meetings and the lessons to be drawn from the question: “Criticism of the power of the State formed by the democracies of appearance at the service of unique parties and oligarchies, non-institutionalization of movements, direct actions, maintenance of horizontality and denial of leaders, unification of tactics and plurality…”.
The organizers want to take the analysis further and weigh the autonomous societies. “These increasingly frequent uprisings, how do they stimulate attempts at autonomy, mutual help, social projects that want to move away from capitalism or other despotisms?” The question to be answered is as follows: “Based on seemingly different situations, what goals do we share around the world and what drives us to take the streets and the campuses of the world?” To bring forward and disseminate these reflections, the Intergalactic Week has invited the representatives of some countries that are home to the above-mentioned riots to testify and discuss them.
They want to take advantage of the waltz of these reflections to seek together ways out of these situations. “When the unbearable conditions of survival (wars, famines, depredations, eocides…) are agglomerated in desert people and in the seas, to later reach some death camps, what directions, meeting places and action can we all build together to break with the fatalistic despair in our societies of mere spectators?” Questions and intentions do not have a small challenge. The veteran experience of Chiapas crosses in a state of war to that of Rojava, of Kurdistan, fed by the libertarian municipality of which Murray Bookchin was a U.S. thinker. Conferences, debates, documentary screenings, seminars, concerts will be the ingredients of these days. Also the follow up of the works of the Ambazada building, in auzolan.
“Informal and diverse meetings can also be held, in a climate of self-management, in order to continue to know us and organize us. The day after the lockdown, to increase hope!” they say in the presentation of the meetings. This year there are also many people who go from Euskal Herria to the BBG to participate in the organization and events of this week, as well as in the auzolanes of the area.
There will not be a single event in the rural area of Notre-Dame-des-Landes, as the ZADenvies festival, organised by the inhabitants of the BBG, will then be held at the end of August. ZADenvies is an event that emerged from movements that rose up against the bustling airport project for people to continue their alternative lives at BBG. As has been said, we will follow the Intergalactic Week which will take place between the week, the weekend of 28, 29 and 30 August.
“Houston, we have a problem!”
Well, to say that we have a single problem, as things are, can be a temerity, but this time I want to focus on an issue that concerns us and affects us internally, mental health.
Historically, suffering has had a profound meaning and meaning... [+]
