Intergalactic Meeting in Hendaya against the G7
- In the two previous editions, international meetings have been held at the ZAD of Notre-Dame-des-Landes. They have been organised this year in Hendaia, from 21 to 23 August, coinciding with the protest activities against the G7.
This year the collective Lurra eta Askatasuna organized the third edition of the Intergalactic Meetings. The two previous meetings were held in the ZAD area of Notre-Dame-des-Landes in Brittany, but this year the organizers wanted to link this initiative with the movements and initiatives against the G7 summit.
The Intergalactic Meeting will begin on 21 August and end on 23 August. "Capitalist imperialism coerces land and peoples," they say from the organization. In the meetings it is intended to analyze "the influence of capitalist expansion on living beings, bodies, languages and cultures".
On 21 August, land defence movements will be the focus of the programme. Together with the By 2020 We Rise Up movement, which is becoming known at European level, we will learn about some of the most curious experiences of Euskal Herria. On the second day the center will be occupied by the patriarchy: "It will be the day of machismo and sexist aggressions workshops," said Arriola. On the third and final day, participants will share experiences on the oppression of minority languages in the Basque Autonomous Community.
In addition, for three days you can be with lawyers and anti-repression movements to "acquire the attitudes and rights that need to be known for the G7 summit".
There will also be popular meals, music, dance and festive atmosphere at the Intergalactic Meeting.
