Until now the terraces were located in the Plaza de San José and in the Plaza de la Compañía (here is one), but this Friday it has been known that they also want to be installed in the streets Calderería and Jarauta, and in the Segundo Ensanche, around the Plaza de la Cruz.
Many bars have no terrace and have asked the City Hall for permission to install it. This has provoked the protest of many neighbours, as the Casco Viejo is already saturated with bars and the rest of the neighbors of the Casco Viejo suffers a lot, especially in this last decade. Therefore, meetings have been held between the hotel owner and the neighbors of Calderería Street, to address the issue jointly.
According to the organized neighbors, they understand the situation that the hotel owners are currently suffering and would be willing to accept several terraces of them, provided they were provisional. But they're afraid, because often that temporality has become eternal. His fear is not in vain, as the mayor, Enrique Maya, has said that it cannot be ruled out that the terraces are perpetuated in those places. The resident association AZ Ekimena asks the City Hall not to take any decision without the agreement of the agents concerned.
