The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has accelerated the construction, which is expected to be put into operation immediately. To protest this, a tipi is built in front of the Trump Hotel. The march ends in front of the White House and a meeting with Trump is requested.

Part of the pipeline runs alongside the Standig Rocks Sioux Reserve, and the residents’ sacred sites and graves have been damaged by infrastructure construction. In addition, the Missouri River flows through this area, and environmentalists say the pipeline will pollute the waters.

The protests began in the spring when the DAPL route was expanded, and hundreds of people have since been arrested during the protests.
