In Soria, Spain, the Parliament of Navarre opposes the construction of a dairy farm with 20,000 heads of cattle. In addition, all the groups have unanimously attacked the high-production dairy farm that the Valle de Odieta cooperative wants to build, which is "at the expense of small farmers" because it is not "sustainable" for the land and is "tailor-made for large investors". That's what Carlos Couso, the MP of the Plenipotentiary Group, said.
Parliament has reminded that there are 25,000 cows in all cattle in all of Navarre, so macro exploitation would "damage" the local reality.
They want to build in Noviercas, a town of 166 people, and their goal is to be the largest in Europe. The cooperative expects an investment of 95 million euros.
