Because of the nature of the attack, the Chavista group has attributed the murder to a paramilitary group, which has been arrested. “The modus operandi shows that it has been done by a team that has received military training, apparently composed of Colombian paramilitaries, former Venezuelan policemen and regular criminals,” they said. In addition, the paper denounces that in recent days a group called Autodefensas Colombo Venezuelans has attacked Venezuelan military personnel in different parts of the Venezuelan geography.

The six deaths were members of the Bolivar and Zamora Revolutionary Current Brigades and the Popular Defense “Hugo Chávez”.
