For the second consecutive year, the bilbaínos and bilbaínes will celebrate Aste Nagusia, with a limited environment and marked by the state of health. However, despite the obstacles, some neighbors are organizing activities during the festivities. SARE, for its part, has called for mobilisation to continue taking steps as regards prison policy. At the press conference he offered on Monday, last Friday, he called to take the streets. The demonstration, which is part of the campaign "Ibilian-ibilian etxerako etxera bidean", will start at 19:30 hours from the plaza de la Elíptica.
Sare has pointed out that in the changes caused by the pandemic a ray of light can be seen, and has considered that as far as Basque prisoners are concerned, the path has been cleared up: "After decades, significant steps have been taken to end the policy of distancing, which is being particularly crucial to alleviating the burden on family and friends. In addition, it is an important first step for Basque prisoners to be able to take the road back home they have to develop," he added. In any case, they have pointed out that there is still a way to go, considering that the majority of prisoners remain in prisons far from the Basque Country and that "the progression of grades to all prisoners is a necessary instrument to develop this process". In this sense, they have insisted on the need to continue mobilizing "to continue taking steps on the path opened by this new situation, to leave behind the legislation of exception and to progression of degrees".
