Militant Sarai Goitia Charges in Police Harassment Court

On 3 June, Abertzale militant Sarai Goitia filed a complaint with the Bilbao Laguardia Court for police prosecution. Naiz told the radio that in recent weeks they have made anonymous calls to nearby militants of Galder Barbado, asking them about him. In addition, Goitia explains that they have noticed a presence in their house and in their surroundings, and that they have been painted in their car: “It is clear that its aim is to make all political militants nervous and especially the environment of Galder Barbado and Aitor Zelaia. Because that also influences them.”
Sortu has conveyed to the youth his solidarity and support, as well as his opinion in a note: “Sewage states are trying to create fear for nationalist militants to curb the liberation process.” They remember that the cases of harassment of Goitia and Barbado are not isolated and denounce the facts harshly. “If anyone thinks they were things of the past, they are wrong: state sewers continue to spy and threaten Basque militants and blackmail,” Sortu warns.
They have continued since the complaint of Barbado
On 20 May, Galder Barbado denounced police persecution for the same reason. In his case, at a hearing at Sortu headquarters he explained that the Civil Guard persecuted him and offered him cooperation. D. Goitia says that in relation to this complaint they expected persecution to be paralysed, but that has not been the case. It encourages all militants and members of the same situation to denounce it.
