The Director General of Health of the Government of Navarra, Carlos Ortundo, has pointed out that it is not yet known how many of the young people who have been in Salou have been infected, but that they know that at least 13 of them are infected. Clear data on the evolution of results is expected to be available in the coming days.
No screening appointment will be required and tests will be carried out on Forem Mutilva for young people who come between 15:00 and 20:00 hours. It is recommended to test young people who have been in Salou or similar places. The screening will be carried out at the Reina Sofía Hospital of Tudela (Bizkaia).
According to Ordundo, not all young people who, with the entry into force of the current protocol, test positive will have to be isolated, as in the past, if they do not have the full vaccination; and if someone is detected a worrying strain, such as the Hindu, they will have to isolate it even if it is vaccinated.
According to Ordundo, the aim is to stop the contagion taking place in the area as soon as possible. This Thursday COVID-19 has increased significantly in Navarre, reaching 113 cases, almost twice as much as in previous days, and the positivity rate has increased from 4.8 to 7.3. However, most infections are young, so hospital filling rates have not been affected.
