This year of 2021 too, we are very sad. Countless problems with dancing and the few news we have to give, unfortunately.
Yesterday [April 8] left us 90 years old Sagrario Aranburu Olasgrip, one of the pioneering dancers of our group. And the others will forgive us, but the most memorable of the first dancers. Sagrario and his family were those who started dancing as soon as they heard the music. In fact, Sagrario had Maxi Aranburu's brother, who was a dancer and director of the Oberena dance group. The txistu and the summer gait of the Paseo de Sarasate became complicated as dancers.
Besides being a dancer, Sagrario has been a singer. Precisely because he was a singer, he was dantzari, at least in our group. He started singing in the choir of the Carmelites of Pamplona and from there he went to the Orpheon Pamplona, where he was a soloist contralto and was named honorary partner of the Orpheon. As what we have was created in the shadow of the Orfeón Pamplona, they were encouraged to dance to several local singers, one of them, Sagrario. The dances began in a small room at the Orpheon headquarters.
In the group he met his future husband Javier Garaikoetxea Urriza.Bailaron together on his many trips - Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Madrid, Pau...- and in the prestigious Duguna show. Besides dancing, Sagrario was a solo singer in Gu.
The Tabernacle had a passion for dance. She left the group with her first pregnancy, hoping to dance again with the child a bit achispado. But soon also came the sons next door, and they couldn't resume the dynamic of the group. However, he has always been close to the group, as "Amaia is the beginning" danced in the show that was held in 1988 to support the municipal group of dances of Pamplona, in the processions of Sanfermin singing from his corner of Pozoblanco Street or in the annual meals of Sansaturno.
On St. Blas Day 2014 we wanted to pay a well-deserved tribute to Sagrario Aranburu and Javier Garaikoetxea, two creators of our group, offering them a dance and gifts after the soka-dantza. We are because they were. Today we remember that day with a special emotion.
In 2019 he also received another well-deserved tribute from the Sagrario. La peña El Bronze also awarded him the "Festa" prize which he awarded to women who have participated in the festivities of San Fermín, for their great contribution to the achievement of egalitarian festivities, among other things. Sagrario was also one of the protagonists of the documentary Pioneras IV related to this award.
As we have said, motherhood interrupted the official activity of dancer of the Sagrario, let's say, but he and Javier projected the love for Basque music and dance in their children. The dantzaris and txistularis of Duguna have a very good relationship with Mintxo, Jose Inazio and Patxi, among others. We would like to extend our condolences to them and to the rest of their family and friends.
No goodbye, Sagrario!
