To Rosa, yes, because that's what home and friends said. On 30 June she will be 29 years old as a result of an infection caused by a pelotazo released 7-8 meters by the Ertzainas. This was evident at the hearing or working session held on 26 January 2023 before the Police Victim Assessment Commission. Since then, years and six months have passed without news from the managing body “Directorate of Human Rights, Victims and Diversity”. On the part of such an organ, a new empathy and closeness attitude towards the victims could be expected.

During these 29 years we have faced Rosi's death, because life advances, but how do we deal with the lie that was built at the time, the lie that Rosi's death was natural, of our wife, mother, family, friend? And since then, that's the official truth. This gives us disappointment, a sense of injustice and insurmountable pain. How long? Are we condemned to it forever? Justice does not deserve an answer (?) From the department? Is there no justice for some kinds of victims?

Let us explain the facts of the last year and a half around the case:

- In the summer of 2022 we called the Department of Human Rights and wrote an e-mail stating that Xabier (Rosi's widow) had been booming for years and that he was not well in health, and that he was worried and suffering greatly that his wife's death was not yet resolved. As a result of the relations held during the autumn, we joined the Valuation Committee in January 2023.

- 26 January 2023. Meeting with the Police Victim Assessment Commission at the Hotel Arantzazu.

First, her husband and her daughters explained the events of that fateful day with long accuracy and data. The current situation, the pelotazo launched by the Ertzainas, its position on the soil of Rosi… And the evolution of the next few days until the infection caused her death. All this with all respect and empathy and closeness to them before the members of the committee.

Later, in response to the questions of Forensic Paco Etxeberria, the nephrologist who followed Rosi, explained in specialized language, often, the causes of death, using more common instructions, so that we all understand well. They didn't leave any room for doubt. The death was the result of an infection caused by piloting. Even forensics who are part of the Commission did not ask dubious questions.

We were very happy to leave the sitting. It was hard, it agitated us inside, the wounds were reopened without healing, but at the same time the attempt was tangible and healing. For once we were heard with respect, attention and empathy. We all had a sense that the subject was well on the way.

- Within two or three months, members of the committee said they would take their decision and transfer it to the Department of Justice, from where something would be communicated to us. To take it quietly, the resources were not abundant and time was needed.

On 29 March, Xabier received an e-mail stating that in a few days he would receive the resolution of the dossier in his email address. Name of the file: Fifth Mind: Rosa Zarra Marin. Number xxxxx.

So far. A whole year funny and no news.

- In July 2023 we called Vitoria-Gasteiz to see what was going on. That the issue was difficult and it was getting longer, but that in the autumn they were going to tell us something. Nothing. In the autumn, the first 66 victims admitted to the event in Kursaal were presented. There was Rosi.

- At the Film and Human Rights Festival, held on 13 April 2024, the film "The Two Pastors of Violence", winner of the Spectator's Prize, was screened. The film ended with an interview involving the film's directors, Tamara Muruetagoiena, daughter of Esteban Muruetagoiena, who died of torture, and the chair of the Valuation Commission. When the space for participation was finally opened for viewers, we explained our situation, which had passed the year since we met with the committee and we had no news. The chairman of the committee said that he could not give any very logical explanation and that they would contact us. A public employee working in the Department of Human Rights approached us at the exit and promised us that they would get in touch immediately. So far. Silence, the answer we have received.

In the face of this, we will continue to remember Rose with affection, affection and tenderness. And in the face of facts and lies (official truth) that prevent us from healing wounds, we will continue to demand recognition, justice and reparation. A simple tribute will be paid to Donostia, Amara on 30 June at 12:30 a.m.

Tamara has taught us that we should not resign and that the search for truth and justice itself is curative. Because every year we are hurt and the pain is renewed, Rosi’s birthday, the anniversary of death, or when anyone can lose their eye with a punch, or when a woman who was going to watch football Anoeta has been about to die…

Will we receive good news before 30 June? At least some novelty. The following year, in 2025, will mark the 30th anniversary. Is there good news by then? Or are we going to stay the same, new old ones?
