Qui prodest? No to the police occupation of the Old Part of San Sebastian!
We are in distress at the new police occupation carried out by the Ertzaintza in the neighborhood and, once again, the violence against the citizens.
We all know that the curfew we have in the Casco Viejo at 22:00, along with other health criteria, we complied with it correctly. At that time, the Ertzaintza knows that the neighborhood is empty every day and without incident.
What then does it come to throw around the neighborhood and go home, by force, before curfew time?
Gazte Asanblada denounced that these incidents always occur when Trini forcibly launches young people and children. Without Ertzaintza, the evacuation of the Trinia takes place every day normally.
What then do these Ertzaintza offensives that cause incidents come to?
It is clear that the Old Party and its inhabitants are in the spotlight. With this criminalization against youth, it is intended to hold young people accountable for the evolution of the pandemic. To divert attention and justify the irresponsibility of the rulers, institutional, political and economic.
This practice is being systematically repeated in other municipalities, such as Eibar, Ondarroa, Cizur, Mungia...
Perhaps for the future the authorities are looking for a justification to keep the Old Party and Euskal Herria full of police at the time of Covid-19?
We call for the freedom of the 4 detainees and we call on political and law enforcement officials to take steps, before anything more serious happens, to normalize, not harden, the situation in the Old Party.
