The Durango Fair presents a program for all audiences
- 53 editions, 247 stands, 439 novelties, of which 304 are books, 93 records, 18 magazines, an electronic publication and 23 other works: The Durango Fair has presented this year’s program and the numbers add to the plurality that Gerediaga wants to claim in 2018.
This year’s harvest of Basque culture will have many shop windows in Durango from 5 to 9 December. Ahotsenea will be one of the most powerful spaces of the festival, with 70 concerts and 42 singles, among others.
In addition, in this edition Irudienea has also been reinforced, with the vocation of being a place of the audiovisual: In the Zugaza film of Durango, from 11:00 to 21:00 hours, an uninterrupted schedule will be offered in which you will see films such as Soinujolearen semea, Muga is called the pass, Dantza, Dial oroitzapenak or Errementari.
Another new feature of this edition will be the Creation Scholarship. The Durango Fair has awarded each year the trajectory of a Basque creator through the Argizaiola Prize, but last year they changed their approach and, instead of looking back, they decided to look forward and accommodate new creators. As explained by Nerea Mujika, president of the Gerediaga association, 28 papers have been presented. On 6 December it will be announced in the Hall of Acts of the Azoka who has been the winner.
In this same room, the Plaza de la Reflexion has been organized for another year, where various topics related to culture will be discussed. Among other things, Ismael Manterola, Mariasun Landa and Belen Oronoz will offer a round table over half a century from 68 to today; on 7 December, under the title “The Creator Journalist and Creative Journalist”, Garbiñe Ubeda and Subai Hill will be in charge of running Nekane Zinkunegi.
The Kabi@ space, dedicated to current technologies, also has new features: This year it will have its space in Landako, as in previous years, and during the days that the fair will be held different network projects will be announced such as the Kultur Sharea portal, the cooperative telecommunications operator Izarkom in the Basque Country, the social network of Basque students Artizarra or Itsulapikoa.eus.
