Successful strike and mobilisation at the Michelin workshops in Vitoria-Gasteiz and Lasarte-Oria
- The meeting in Lasarte-Oria and a jam in the morning will meet at 13:00 in front of the workshop and in the afternoon will make a demonstration in the streets of the town. In Vitoria-Gasteiz, 93% joined the call for a strike and the workshop was virtually paralysed.
The workers have mobilized to link the wage increase with the CPI and reduce working time and time in the two workshops held by Michelin on Monday in Euskal Herria, Vitoria and Lasarte-Oria. The positions to reach a consensus on the working pact are a long way off. The unions do not support the proposal put forward by the management and call for a strike.
According to the unions ELA, LAB, CGT and ESK, 93% of the workers in the production chain have joined the strike in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and dozens of people have met in the early morning in front of the piquetry plant. The unions CCOO, UGT, CSIF and CCM have made an effort to end the strike at the last moment, but the workers have rejected it. Moreover, on 7 June, 10 June and 12 June there will also be a strike.
In Lasarte-Oria a row of cars was made at 9:30, a morning concentration in the workshop and a demonstration in the afternoon. Lasarte’s workshop has also organised four days of strike in June and July. The staff commission consists of the ELA, LAB, CCOO, UGT and CSI unions.
