Representatives of LAB and ELA Uxua Lasa and Esther Arruti have made the media aware of the position of the works council at a concentration held this Tuesday in Donostia-San Sebastián before the representation of the workers meets with the management. “The Commission has come to this meeting with clear ideas to express its absolute rejection of the company’s approach and we ask it to leave the 56 redundancies,” Lasa said.
After announcing on June 10 the cessation of clinker production in a decarbonisation process of cement manufacturing, the plant management informed eight days after the file for this stop will affect 56 workers, that is, half of the workforce.
