In the absence of four days to the end, the final octet has been at the Donostia Arena, presenting the great final. These have therefore been the eight bertsolaris that have operated in Illumbe: Alaia Martin Etxebeste, Andoni Rekondo Izagirre, Ane Labaka Mayoz, Aner Peritz Manterola Euzkitze, BEÑAT Gaztelumendi Arandia, Eneritz Artetxe Eizagirre, Nerea Elustondo Plazaola and Oihanana Iguaran. Along with them, Ane Ezenarro Beristain, besides representing the themes chosen at the Bertsolaris Championship in Gipuzkoa, will be in charge of announcing the champion on Saturday; and along with it, Iker Iriarte Iribar will be in charge of giving the themes.

It is precisely the Saturday that will be four months from the beginning of the Bertsolaris Championship in Gipuzkoa. The end will come after a year of work, and its protagonists have been keen to move forward. All of them have taken the floor, both the veterans and those who have come to the end for the first time, and have highlighted their enthusiasm and desire.

In addition to those who participated in the press conference, the final will be attended by other participants. As has been said, Ane Ezenarro Beristain and Iker Iriarte Iribar will be in charge of presenting the final and giving the issues to the bertsolaris. In the trial, however, the following six judges shall act: Bakarne Urreaga Etxeberria, Eneritz Azkue Basurko, Iñigo Legorburu Arrangi, Karlos Ibarguren Olalde, Leire Beloki Lizarralde and Oihana Aranguren Etxaniz. The secretary shall be Aratz Irazustabarrena Garmendia.

Bertso-eskolas, awarded

As we announced last week, Arantzazu Loidi Garitano will be in charge of dressing the txapela to the champion of Gipuzkoa, Juan Mari Goikoetxea. On behalf of the Bertsolaris Almen school, Loidi has been a student of the school, the first Bertsolari woman of her generation and has also participated in numerous recitals. Along with him, Patxi Goikolea Zabala, who was his singing professor, will be in charge of awarding the prize to the best bertsolari sub 25.

They both represent the bertsos school created 50 years ago, the base of the universe of the later bertso-eskolas. In fact, as reflected in the image of this year’s championship, this universe will also be represented in the awards: The representatives of the bertso-eskolas of Gipuzkoa will also be in charge of delivering the remaining prizes.
