Bake Bidea quoted: on 10 July they will leave Baiona and walk 31 kilometers, until they reach San Juan de Luz. Unai and Jon Kepa Parot, Jakes Esnal and Frederic Haranburu 'Xistor', who were arrested 31 years ago, will claim through the march the immediate release of the brothers Parot and Esnal.
"The freedom of these militants has become essential at the territorial level. An indispensable stage. It is a step forward, as the peace process initiated in San Sebastian on 17 October 2011 must be strengthened and enduring! Almost ten years have passed, but the legal, social and political context is the opposite, based on the logic of 'comprehensive security' at the level of Hexagon. We are very concerned. This is the reading they have conveyed from the press conference held on 9 June in Baiona. In particular, according to Bake Bidean, the age-old stance that is being strengthened by the French Government "opens a wall to an absolutely necessary and logical path for the peace process".
They have also denounced that the French Anti-Terrorist Public Prosecutor's Office, created in 2019, prioritizes the logic of the confrontation by adding that "with Basque prisoners only the logic of the past is confirmed".
If there are no changes in the French state, Bake bidean believes that in the Spanish state "new perspectives" of rapprochement and degree changes are opened.
In this sense, they have pointed out that the date of 10 July will be "decisive" to unblock the situation. On 10 July they will depart from Baiona at 08:00, passing through Angelu, Biarritz, Bidar and Getaria, and arrive in San Juan de Luz at 17:00 hours. They have reminded the pacifist Mixel Berhokoirigoin, who died a few weeks ago, and they have shown their willingness to take the road with him to the end.
