Today, 17 April, the international day of political prisoners is celebrated
- On this international day of political prisoners, various associations and institutions have spread their memory and solidarity with the political prisoners in Euskal Herria and around the world, warning of the situation they live in this crisis of Covid-19 and demanding solutions for their prison.
The association of relatives of Basque political prisoners, ETXERAT, has spread the following message: "Today, 17 April, we want to convey to all political prisoners and their families our affection, our solidarity and our message of hope for the future, because we all follow trabajando.Porque we want them at home and alive."
The Pro-Amnesty and Anti-Repression Movement, for its part, pointed out in a statement that the amnesty of Basque prisoners and retaliation is an essential demand, stressing that "the reasons that led these people to fight must be resolved".
The internationalist movement Askapena recalled that at the International Conference of Political Prisoners held in Euskal Herria in 2004 it was agreed to declare 17 April as International Day of Political Prisoners. In the same vein, they have stated that "we express our appreciation to the political prisoners of the world, because in this way we make our struggles for the liberation of the peoples of the world, and demanding the freedom of all political prisoners, because we want to extend to the four winds the cry for the freedom of the peoples" and has sent a "revolutionary and loving internationalist hug" to all Basque political prisoners in French and Spanish jails.

Sare Herritarrak antolatuta, pasa den urtarrilaren 11n Bilboko kaleak bete zituen manifestazio jendetsuaren ondoren, berriz sortu da eztabaida, euskal presoei salbuespen legeriarik aplikatzen ote zaion. Gure iritzia azaltzen saiatuko gara.
