The Word of the Holy Spirit has been awarded for the following reasons:

"The most conservative and mainstream media are permeating society with the whirlwind of information related to petty crime. They precipitate the idea of insecurity, a wild card that some would like to use to open the doors to all monsters. And for that, you have to nurture social terror.

We are seeing an increase in racist speeches, authoritarian tendencies and police violence in one and the other. It is not an exclusive problem in the Basque Country, and in our country it is not as strong as several decades ago – remember the cry of the “uniformed by day, uncontrolled by night” of that time. But it is on the rise, as it is seen internationally, and that does scare anyone who is in favor of a fairer society.

And against the far right, what to do? How to combat racism from journalism? The media that we are going to reward today shows us the way. A clean editorial position, based on collaboration, starting with neighborhoods and close journalistic follow-up to the issue, even if this provokes the fascist signaling and threats to journalists."
