These are the activities of this week, and then reading.
"Good morning everybody.
First of all, thank you to all of you who have been speakers of “Piztu Bilbo, Piztu MTV”. The MTV Musik Week is organized by Peterm Griffin, Batman and Superman. We have long denounced the urban showcase imposed on us by these false popular superheroes. That is why we believe that the best contribution we can make this week is to fill our streets and neighborhoods with participatory activities for all.
A few days ago, as we said in the 11th Botxo Eguna, we lived in a barricade. On each side of this barricade there are not only two different subjects – the bourgeoisie and the dispossessed classes – but two antagonistic and enemy life models, and two worlds that are in a constant war. This war between worlds and the barricade between them has two distinct sides. On the one hand there are “them”: Those who hide behind the masks of Batman and Superman, PNV, Iberdrola, BBK, Laboral Kutxa, Lastour... and MTV, a shameful spectacle that commercializes cultures, bodies and subjects. And on the other hand, “we”: The People, the Working Class, the Popular Movements and all the subjectivities and ways of life we are working on to decommodify, decommute and decolonize Euskal Herria.
Once, with our clear and forceful position, we would like to invite all the people living in Bilbao to participate, share your opinion and participate in debates and mobilizations:
The first date is this Thursday, November 1, at 18:00 in the afternoon, in which we will make a musical pasacalles that will leave the Etxebarrieta Square. Because we are clear, “if you can’t dance, this is not our revolution.”
On Friday, November 2, from 17.00 in the afternoon, we will be in Indautxu Square, with the intention of making it a comfortable and cozy space for all people. We have organised a roundtable invigorated by Jule Goikoetxea in which we will count as guests Lutxo Egia, Monuz, Errekaleor Bizirik, Emakumeen Mundu Martxa and representatives of the dynamics of welcoming migrants that has been given this summer by the neighbours. We invite anyone who wants to discuss the impact of macro-ebans on us and the use of public space.
On Saturday, November 3, at 12.00 in the morning, we organized a CYCLING MARCH all over the city. From here to ask forgiveness to the neighbors in the upper neighborhoods, surely we will not get there up there. A supportive embrace to all those neighborhoods that suffer the decisions of the ruling classes.
That same Saturday, at 18.00 in the afternoon, we will carry out a mobilization that will leave the Plaza de Elíptica. In this mobilization, we want to show the different ways of living and being in this city.
Finally, on Sunday, we want to show our support for the all-day mobilisation and programme that the members of Piztu Ezkerraldea have convened and encourage all people to participate in it.
We have clearly shown what the model of city we want to build and are building. That is why we believe that what has emerged during these months from the dynamic of “Piztu Bilbo, Piztu MTV”, a barricade that we build every day, has to open the door to continue weaving networks, to continue building popular alternatives and to take the first steps to build a city model underneath and through the neighborhoods. After all, knowing how to build a barricade is of no use if we do not know how to live on one side of the trench.
That is why we invite everyone to participate in the mobilizations to build a new Bilbao between all and all, from the bottom, from the people and with solidarity, against and beyond MTV, the PNV and the city that is its showcase.
It has become clear since today that Bilbao is on, that the popular movement is a sea of resistance formed by small fires that will never stop either Peter Griffin, Batman, or Superman.
Thank you for your attention and we see each other in the streets. Because whether you like it or not, the streets will remain ours.
