The painted boat against the Open Arms that collected migrants returning from Africa to Europe says Open Arms=blackmen. Three painted against the feminist movement have appeared on several walls and say: Feminazis al hoyo (feminaziak zulora), Feminazis FCK and A.C.A.B. In addition to repairing migrants, the NGO and feminists have threatened the mayor of Deba, EH Bildu, for his involvement. The painting says: “Guillen, close the mosque. First warning.” The mosque was opened to the public in May in the Navarra locality. The mayor has shown his support for the social agents who have been insulted by the mayor. In statements to the newspaper Noticias de Gipuzkoa, on the feminist movement, he stated: “Of course, the protection is total. Due to the sexist aggressions (in addition in summer the situation is more serious), it is worth highlighting the work that women from feminist groups are doing.” With regard to the members of the mosque that were launched in May, he said that “their culture is being made known and ways are being opened for proper integration among all the neighbours.” Faced with all insults and threats, he says that they cannot remain silent: “We don’t know who has painted them, but we have to be careful and take them seriously.”
The painted ones have been spread through social networks by the NGO president Iñigo Mijangos, Humanitarian Marine Rescue. NGO Aita Mari has launched a fishing campaign with the aim of saving migrants at sea. Mijangos has written on social media: “If we accept these kinds of behaviors, they will knock at our door when they come out at night. StopFascism.” Asked about the authorship of the painting against Open Arms, he said: “It’s someone’s reaction, we don’t know if it’s from the city or from the outside. It may be uncomfortable with the work we do. If so, give your opinion in the right place, because there are democratic avenues and do not threaten at night. We need more pedagogy, we need to open the spotlight and work on respect for what is different from us.”
In Deba, at 19:30 hours a repulsive concentration will be made by the messages of the painted ones.
