Pedro Sánchez opens a gap to Chivite presidency
- With Ferraz’s messages throughout the week it has become clear that the PSOE did not see with good eyes that the PSN was trying to hold the presidency of the Government of Navarra. In addition to the leaks, the Vice-President of the Government, Carmen Calvo, and the minister, José Luis Ábalos, made clear statements against the PSN track.
The first said that the autonomic pact was going to ratify the militancies, but that the last word is held by the federal leadership, that is, Ferraz. For the second, the offer of Javier Esparza – abstention from the NS in the investiture of Sánchez in exchange for the presidency of the Government of Navarra – was very reasonable and to be taken into account. The words of the socialist leaders for the SNP were: Cold water below its own weight.
On Thursday afternoon, however, things changed a little, or a lot, who knows. After meeting the king of Spain, he asked about Navarra and Pedro Sánchez said that the PSOE and the PSN were in the same position, “with Bildu there is no agreement”. And with Navarra Suma y Esparza: “We will meet him in the round we are doing and then he will clarify his position on my investiture.” It was clear, but now it becomes clearer, until the investiture knot of Sánchez is broken, Chivite will not be cleared.
And where is the final decision of the Navarros treaties? Sanchez said firmly: “In the militants, this is regulated in the party’s statutes, so there is no debate there.” But the journalists continued with the possible abstention of EH Bildu, as if they were also in the hands of Madrid: “We are not going to agree with Bildu.”
Everything is still in the air, and Sánchez did not say yes or yes, but the PSN has ingested some oxygen in the talks by the presidency of the foral government.
