No concentration in solidarity with Patxi Ruiz in Estella
- Amnesty Osoa has denounced that on Thursday they were banned from the concentration called in Estella in solidarity with the Basque prisoner Patxi Ruiz. The delegation of the Government, through the Civil Guard, has decided to ban the act of tribute. “The ban is supposedly based on health measures, even though in the first concentration we fully complied with them,” they point out.
“In these situations of emergency, while the fascists are demonstrating, the anti-fascists are beaten and the mobilizations in favor of the Basque political prisoner Patxi Ruiz are banned and attacked. A systematic violation of political freedoms is taking place on the pretext of the pandemic,” they have denounced. The events in Pamplona/Iruña have set an example in the demonstration in Pamplona.
Even though the mobilisation of this Thursday has been suspended, the gestures of solidarity towards the hunger stricken prisoner will continue. They have called for the mobilisation that will take place on 30 May in the Plaza del Castillo de Pamplona.
