They organize the project 'Parkpark euskaraz' in the Region of Pamplona to promote the use of the child basque country
- It is a project aimed at children between two and six years of age and their families. Once a week, they will gather in the parks of seven neighborhoods to perform games and other activities. Registration is open until 23 September.
As pointed out by the agents, the project will serve to change the linguistic habits in the relationships between the smallest and the oldest, to work communication in Basque. In addition, by translating the language into leisure, they intend to “identify it and make it enjoy the extra-school space”. In addition to creating groups of Euskaldunes neighbours, the objective is to promote the “empowerment” of living in Euskera.
The participating boys and girls will be divided into two subgroups: those aged two and three and those aged four, five and six. Each of them must be accompanied by a father, friend or family member who knows Euskera. Parents will be responsible for organizing “autonomous and diversified sessions”: workshops, excursions, free games and book exchanges.
In addition, the Dindaia Foundation will manage 24 game sessions during the course 2021-2022. The Sortzen Association, the HE Gurasoak Group, local Basque services and other associations will also be involved.
More projects
According to the drivers, “the age range 0-6 is very special in the development of children, since that is when the bases of different learning processes are established, such as those necessary for language learning”. However, one of the drivers of the initiative, the Sortzen Association, has also developed the dynamic it wants to extend to those over six years of age. “Euskara Kalera” is open to young people between the ages of 6 and 12: This project, which began last year at the ikastola Hegoalde, has been launched one more year. The deadline for participation in the “Parkeuskaraz” project is open until 23 September, so it is enough to complete this form. As reported by the project’s initiators, they have at the moment been willing to carry out the initiative in seven neighbourhoods, but have also called for them to contact those interested in towns and neighbourhoods that have not managed to form a group.
The schedules established so far are as follows:
- Ansoin: Thursday from 17:30 to 18:30. In the park next to the quarry.
