The trial against Raimundo El Canastro will soon take place on February 12. Due to another attack on freedom of expression, last summer the musical group was put on the joyous spot for their song to denounce the authoritarian attitude of the City Council of Estella (Navarre). The song Beef D'Alda was created in July in the framework of the movements of the mayor of the UPN to ban the txosnas of Estella, which led to a long chord: several parties and events tried to censor the group, a motion against it was approved by the City Council of Estella with the complicity of all parties, some intoxicating media launched a campaign of criminalization against it, etc.
In addition to this, the song of denunciation has also had judicial consequences. Several members of Raimundo El Canastro were arrested and summoned to testify at the end of July, finally opening a judicial process against the musical group. It has recently been reported that an "incredible juggling game" has been played in the face of the trial, based on a misinterpretation of the title of Beef D'Alda to make some accusations.
Although it may seem false, the use of the word "Beef" by Raimundo El Canastero (which is used to denote "confrontation" and the like) is placed at the point of bias in the accusation, without understanding its true meaning, since the members of the group have been accused of calling the mayor of the UPN "calf" (also known in English as "beef"). Because of this misunderstanding, they are accused of "disregarding the mayor's physical characteristics." "We don't know if they'll end up being the ones who're kidding us or if they've done the investigation so quickly and with bad intent," the team said: "It seems that they have not yet realized the meaning of the term Beef in such a musical context."

"In order to keep the mood high," the team members report that they have set up an appointment in Estella for February 8. They are preparing a day of solidarity and are calling for their attendance. Before that, this Friday, an open assembly will be held in the Youth Center Llama, starting at 19:00. "We will continue to defend freedom of expression (which was not so hard to say), good humor, satire, irony and compliment," they proclaim: "#BeefEzDaBeef, but protest, criticism, friction or complaint, and of course making music is not a crime."
